Gaspar Lalovich
Director & Business Development
Passionate with a hard-working ethic, Gaspar has a strong background in mechanical engineering which saw him found Airflo Limited in 2003. This became a successful installation business before he had the opportunity to acquire Express Sheetmetals in 2007. This acquisition provided the ideal platform to create the all-encompassing manufacturing and installation business we see today.
As customer face of the company, Gaspar continues to apply his customer relationship and business development skills and passion.
Gaspar played Rugby 15’s and 7’s at an international level, which led to his “discovery” of New Zealand in 1999. Since then, he’s been proud to call New Zealand home, enjoying the people, lifestyle and the many outdoor activities Aotearoa offers.
As customer face of the company, Gaspar continues to apply his customer relationship and business development skills and passion.

Mike Arcari

Mike Arcari joined Express Sheetmetals as a co-owner shortly after Gaspar acquired the company. He has directed significant changes in operations and has implemented various technical advancements in design, fabrication, and manufacturing to support the company's impressive growth.
He started his apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker in 1987 and has experience in motor mechanics, repairs and maintenance, a range of DIY projects, and work in a family-owned ice cream manufacturing business.
Mike’s expertise includes multiple aspects of sheet metal production. Currently, he contributes to areas such as design, CAD, CAM, health and safety, estimation, machinery maintenance, and staff training.
His hobbies include riding his motorbike, playing video games, and spending time with family when possible.

My career has given me extensive experience in managing design and manufacturing businesses that serve both domestic and international markets.
As the General Manager of the ARLO Express group, I am committed to putting the customer at the centre of everything we do by striving for operational excellence.
My busy family life keeps me grounded at home, but outside of work, much of my spare time is spent in and around the water—whether I am swimming or patrolling as a volunteer at our local surf beach.

Max Basta
General Manager - Australia
I am a Mechanical Engineer with a BSc, specialising in HVAC&R. Over the past 30 years, I have built my career working across New Zealand, Australia, and China, collaborating with both mechanical sub-contractors and builders.
Throughout my career, I have designed and project managed a wide range of developments, including hospitals, shopping centres, airports, office blocks, and metro stations.
In addition, I established a Grilles and Diffusers factory in China, further expanding my expertise and hands-on experience in the industry.
Taking on the challenge of launching ARLO Express in Australia, I have a mission to vastly improve the products and services available in this technical sector.
Throughout my career, I have designed and project managed a wide range of developments, including hospitals, shopping centres, airports, office blocks, and metro stations.

Dennis Dela Vina
Estimator
I joined Express Sheetmetals in 2015 after completing my studies in Mechanical Engineering in New Zealand.
After spending a couple of years working on the workshop floor, the company directors recognised my potential and encouraged me to move into estimating. Since then, I have gained valuable experience in HVAC estimating and have continued to develop my skills with Camduct software.
Outside of work, I enjoy good food and spending time with friends and family.

Tim Stephens
Installation Project Manager
I joined ARLO Express in February 2024, inspired by the team's genuine care displayed at Sander's funeral during a challenging time. As project manager, I oversee operations outside the Factory, mainly Installations, a discipline we specialise in. I'm proud when projects we’ve worked on, such as Auckland’s NZ International Convention Centre, Te Kaha Stadium in Christchurch, and Site 6 in downtown Auckland, succeed. With 24 years' experience in mechanical services and HVAC installations, I bring a wide industry knowledge to my role.
I'm married to Lee, have two sons, and enjoy motorbiking and rugby with my family.

Earl Pantaleon
Senior Project Manager
I first joined the company as a dispatcher in 2013, and my initial motivation stemmed from witnessing first-hand the incredible support that the directors gave to my dad and our family during a challenging time. After some years, I decided to pursue my degree, which led me to leave the company for a while. However, in 2023, I found myself drawn back to Express Sheetmetals, inspired by its reputation as the leader in its field and eager to contribute to its ongoing success.
Now, as a Senior Project Manager based in Auckland, I take pride in being meticulously organised when it comes to addressing our customers’ needs. As Gaspar once put it, I can be “pedantic,” but I believe this attention to detail ensures our clients receive the best possible service.
One of the most memorable experiences during my time here occurred after the passing of our beloved director, Sander. In that difficult period, everyone on the team stepped up, putting aside job titles and descriptions to do what the company needed. It was a powerful reminder of the collective spirit and dedication that defines ARLO Express Sheetmetals.
Before joining ARLO Express, I qualified as a Quantity Surveyor and served as a lead QS for a residential builder. That experience opened the door to project management, and from there, I steadily worked my way up to my current role.
In my spare time, I’m a keen photographer and I love making music: I play various instruments - drums, guitar and bass.

Originally from Hungary, I moved to New Zealand in February 2014 to pursue new personal and professional opportunities.
My career began in accounting and technology, where I spent nine years as an Account Manager in the software industry, supporting users of accounting, billing, and inventory management systems.
In January 2016, I transitioned to Express Sheetmetals, entering the sheetmetal manufacturing sector without prior experience. I quickly adapted, taking on varied responsibilities across office administration, sales, accounts payable, payroll, and health & safety.
This role has enhanced my ability to work collaboratively, manage priorities, and support the efficient operation of both manufacturing and installation teams in a dynamic environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling and hiking, embracing New Zealand’s outdoor lifestyle. Living here has deepened my appreciation for nature, community, and maintaining a healthy balance between professional and personal life.

I began my journey with Express in 2016, a pivotal time when the company was expanding into new markets and launching a new branch in Christchurch. Meeting Sander Dales, whose ambitious vision for Express inspired me, made me eager to become part of this exciting phase of growth.
Since then, I have served as the Finance and Administration Manager for Express. My role centres on providing the stability necessary for the company to sustain its growth and establish itself as a market leader in manufacturing and installation, ensuring our customers receive reliable and consistent service.
One standout aspect of my experience here has been the unwavering support and leadership from our directors. Their guidance continually propels the company forward, making each workday both enjoyable and, at times, challenging in the best possible way.
Before joining Express, I built up over 30 years of experience in the accounting profession. My previous roles included serving as a company accountant in the textiles industry and within the private tertiary education sector.
When it comes to unwinding outside of work, when I can find the time, I relax in my passion for sports. While I am no longer able to compete myself, I thoroughly enjoy watching professional sports from around the world, whether it’s Formula 1 or any team sport.

As a long-time Express employee who’s come and gone in different roles over the years, it’s always felt like a full-circle moment to return. I was keen to come back and contribute further, bringing more experience and perspective to add value later in my career.
I’m a Quantity Surveyor by trade, focused on adding value within the estimating and commercial departments. I’m also passionate about improving internal processes where I see opportunities to make a difference.
I haven’t yet been part of many of the major moments with the team, but I’m looking forward to being involved in more milestones ahead.

As Head of Market, my role is all about connecting with customers, educating them on the full offering and capabilities of ARLO Express, and ensuring they have the right support to succeed.
I also provide operational assistance where needed, making sure our solutions deliver value from the first conversation through to project completion.
A highlight for me has been seeing how our relationship-driven approach sets us apart: we take the time to understand our customers, work with them to overcome challenges before they arise, and build trust that leads to long-term success.
Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf as a way to relax and recharge.
